Digital story script: My travel in Beijing
Hello, everyone, my name is Zhu Jiawei, I come from China, China is one of the most historic countries in the World. It you want to know more details about Chinese history, Beijing is a good place to go, as it is the capital of china and has many places of interest. Before I came to the US, I was lucky enough to have a nice travel with my family in Beijing and have a good time there.
Although there are many places of interest in Beijing, the Great Wall left me the deepest impression. There is a proverb going, “If you don’t go to The Great Wall, you are not the hero”. Before I go there, I always doubt those words. As I think it is just a wall why it can scare so many people. However, when I went there by myself, I finally found out the reason. That was a sunny day, the Great Wall looks more splendid under the sunshine. Another thing out of my imagination is that the structure of the Great Wall, I used to think the Great Wall has stairs, but it only has a flat road but quite uneven. It made me exhausted when I arrived the fifth fire house. Standing at the top of hill and viewed the beautiful landscape is really an enjoyable thing. It makes me think of a story, when it was Qing dynasty, the king forced every male to build the Great Wall which is used to defend enemies. There was a couple just married three days, the soilder caught the Meng jiangnu’s husband to build the Great Wall. The workload of building the Great Wall was really heavy and many people died because of the hard conditions. One of them is Meng’s husband. When Meng heard this bad news, she was so sad and cried beside the Great Wall for three days. As a result, the Great Wall was collapsed by her sadness.
During the process of climbing the mountain, I noticed that the bricks contributed to the wall are different from current daily used bricks. Although they have many kinds of shapes and the color even looks ugly, they can stick to each other very tight, there is no hole between one stone and another one. I really praise the wisdom of ancient people since that they can make such an excellent antique for us.
Besides places of interest, eating in Beijing plays an important role in the Chinese culture. Especially the Beijing roasted duck. During this travel, my family went to the Quanjude on purpose which is the most famous restaurant, as it serves the traditional Beijing roasted duck. Unfortunately, China has the highest population in the world. There are always full of people in the famous places, including the place to eat ducks. My family and I have to wait for one and half an hour then can have a seat to sit. However, the taste of dishes there didn’t let us down. We were so appetite when we saw the duck and we were just like hungry tigers, the duck was eaten by us in several minutes.
That travel will be a nice memory in my life. The travel also taught me how be a strong man in the future.
This is a good paragraph about your Beijing trip. It looks like you were having a good time, which I believe it sure was. The Great Wall sounds like a awesome place, though it somewhat made you exhausted. However, there may be too much focus on the Great Wall; you could also write some other interest in Beijing, like Forbidden City and Summer Palace. Personally, I would prefer if you cover more on food. :P
