BLOG #5 Chenwei Liu

Honestly, I am weak in writing. In high school, I always got low score in Chinese because of my poor performance in the writing section. And I think this results in my weakness in English writing. One can hardly write well in English if he is not good at writing in his own language. Fortunately, my writing ability has improved a lot now in 106 class. I have nice professor and classmates, who really help me very much. However, there are some aspects I still need to work on, the most important one of which is my limited vocabulary. To gain success, an extensive vocabulary is necessary. As for summarizing, it is new to me and challenging as well, but also important. I think my ability to think about thinks differently has got improved because when paraphrasing, I need to think out different phrases and words. But I still have difficulty understanding long and complex sentences.

I am quite satisfied with my digital story script. Many people are not familiar with university life in China. And now they are offered a chance to get a general understanding of students’ behavior in Chinese universities. To make it an interesting story, I use examples of what students do in class, their performance in exams, and professors’ attitude towards their students. And now I think the first thing I need to do is get some impressive images to make it an engaging story.
