Life in Ohio State University Zebin Chen

During the four weeks in OSU particularly impression is the cohesion of students here. It seems that when you shout out ''O-H'' in a crowed, there must be amount of people respond ''I-O''to you. It describes the unite of OSU. The first time I knew this was on orientation for international students. The officer introduced the history of OSU to us and made us have a knowledge about it. However, it is abstract to me and I missed a lot of what she said. Before the break, she showed us the gestures of ''O-H-I-O'', divided us into two parts and told us to respond to each other. I was moved at that time and felt to be one of the big family here. We can also feel family's care and stay here very happy.

Football is one of the most important parts in OSU as well. When I looked through the window this Saturday, I found the stadium was filled with people wearing red shirts. To be honest, I know little about football, but the atmosphere here have impact on me. We can experience the joy of win and the pain of lose from the game and know the importance of cooperation in success. And the game teaches us discipline, respect of others and teaches us to face defeat bravely. People here are tightly knit like a family by football games.

What's more, people here are very helpful and they help me a lot when I have any difficulty. I always get lost on campus and fail to find the right way to a place. People nearby often point out the way and even guide me there.

I describe the cohesion of students by the gestures of ''O-H-I-O'', the experience which football teaches us and the helpful people here.
