Blog 5 #Views of My Writing in The Course Zebin Chen

As far as I am concerned, studying in this course exerts positive effects on improving my writing skills. I regard myself as a good writer in Chinese because of the easy access to resources and knowing the rules of writing varied kinds of articles well. However, it is challenging to be a good writer as a second language when facing culture diversity and different attitude toward rules of writing. During one month’s learning in this course, I enhance my summary skills and acquire knowledge about features of an academic summary. Furthermore, particularly improvement is the proper use of descriptive and informative verbs and getting familiar with rules about referencing to others’ idea. However, paraphrasing is still difficult to me because sometimes I can’t grasp the meaning of sentences and writing compound-complex sentences is challenging as well. I make up my mind to strengthen my editing ability and pay more attention to paraphrase.
When it comes to digital story, I would like to express that although it is not a prefect one, I like it because I devote every effect to make it an interesting one and add my own experience to the story. I correct grammar errors and introduce culture background when modifying it, for example, I talk about information about One-Month-Old Feast and One-Year-Old Catch of Babies to make it attractive to others. Moreover, I make it clear to see the conflicts in my growth and how to cope with them in my story. However, I wonder if it is attractive to others, I believe I need more feedback and make it an excellent one.
