Blog#2 American life -JIawei Zhu

I have been in Columbus for 25 days. During these days, i experienced a lot and had many unforgettable memories, like taking the school bus, watching the outside American movie and attending church to study bible. Besides those, the food in Columbus left me the deepest impression.

I lived at the south campus, so i used to eat at a restaurant called "Pepsi" which is near my living place. In my mind, "Pepsi" is a famous brand of beverage, it is also very popular with teenagers in china. So, it's understandable for me to choose there as my favorite restaurant till now. However, the situation happened in the first day i went to that restaurant really embarrassed me, as i didn't know how to order my food. The types of food in the menu are so difficult for me to recognize. I had no idea to order what to eat, so i asked the waitress that i want to try some spicy food. She introduced me a spicy hamburger. I said ok with the half doubt. After waiting for several minutes, my food was coming in a basket. I seated by the bar and enjoyed my food. Suddenly, the waitress asked me what i need to drink, because of nervous, i didn't hear that voice clearly. The waitress had no idea but to repeat it again. Finally, i acquired a bottle of pepsi.

The food in the basket were very simple, just some fresh fries, a piece of steak and bread. In fact, the taste of steak was completely out of my imagine. In china, the spicy food can make you feel hot, however, the steak here is not very spicy but a little salty. I hardly to finished my lunch.

In conclusion, my feeling of the American food is cold, salty and fast.
