My gift receivers

Hello everyone! My name is Guo Shiyu. Today I want to discuss my dear parents’ life story and how their attitudes have influenced my personality. My family is composed with three members: my strict daddy, my optimistic mommy, and me. My dad is the director of the Shenyang railway station, which requires extreme seriousness and accuracy. Contrarily, my mom is outgoing and a problem solver. She is the CFO of a Korean company. All staffs like to work with her because she plunges into her work with immense enthusiasm and treats everyone with smile. Everyone who knows both of them wonder how they can live a fairytale life with all happiness and fulfillment, “haha, it is a secret!”, my parents often answer. But as their daughter, I know how they reconcile the difference of each other.

Although their characteristics are so extreme, with the connection of love and respect, they still live a harmonious and happy life. One time, my parents were surfing the net and sadly found a top-student whose study would be discontinued because of finance. They looked up for the address of the boy and got there as soon as possible to help him. Even now, they are still funding the boy with his studies. My dear parents are gratified at the results. Moreover, my parents always had different viewpoints towards things, from state plans to daily life, but they listened to each other’s points carefully and pointed out the difference politely. For example when making the decision about where to travel, they would consider all the pros and cons, and then picked out the famous Changbai Mountain as the destination. It has lots of breathtaking sceneries making our trip an unforgettable one. When they two come together, they can always make the wisest decision by combining ideas. As a “bystander”, I admire my parents’ life.

Most of the children get the love education from school, but I get it from my parents. Before I came to America for higher education, I loved to take a walk with my parent. We run together, sang together and took pictures about funny and colorful things together. OOPS! This photo was taken by my mommy: a caterpillar! This gesture which means bye-bye was learned from a cute baby girl. See, even my daddy did some funny gestures! I still pay attention to the beauty of the life and love everything surrounding me even when now I am in America. We also discussed from national affairs to daily funny things, sometimes even their troubles. They see me as an adult so they will respect my opinions and take my advices when making decisions. We are all equal. Ultimately, the most important thing I learn from them is the love spread through interactions between people. If a daughter is the god’s gift to the parents, I am the luckiest person on earth because my gift receivers nurture me with patience and love and build me into a person who respect others and know how to love.

  1. I can feel how you earned education from your parents. I envy you. Also, Look forward to see your parents another picture like these fun.

However, both the title and in the last sentence's words "My gift receivers" makes me little bit confuse that need time to understand. Could you give me more specific explanation about that word?
