My first road trip
Hello everyone, my name is Peixi Lei, I am going to tell a story about my first road trip in USA.
There were three friends travelled with, which are Terrence Li, Queenie Wu, and Muhan Shi. Terrence Li is a very strong, sunshine and humorous. He is keen on imitating celebrities and his friends, so I always tell him switch to theatre major. Queenie Wu has a lot of similarities with me; she likes travelling, taking photo and drawing. She is majoring in industry design. Muhan Shi is a tiny girl with kind-hearted. Our road trip started from Columbus, driving through 900 miles by passing two states. We visited four places, which are cedar point amusement park from Sandusky OH, Cleveland OH, Indiana State and Chicago IL.
The first stop was cedar point amusement park. It is famous for the largest roller coasters amusement park in America. It is fantastic and exciting, because every individual roller coaster brought me different visual shock. Hold your breath, I will introduce the most well known roller coaster, and the name is “Top Thrill Dragster”. It completed in 2003, became the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster. Just need 4 seconds from 0 mph to top speed. That feeling is cool, exciting, and crazy! Bear in mind, Coward don’t take!
The second stop was Cleveland, it is an old industurial city in America. During the large industrial recession, it became a financial center. There are many new downtown attractions, such as the Cleveland baseball Indians home, rock and roll hall of fame and Playhouse Square center. I would like to introduce the famous museum “rock and roll hall of fame and museum”, designed in Septhember 1995 from United States Chinese architect IM pei. There are six floors, the display record, shows the history of rock and roll in the large area. I am a big fan of rock music, I found many of my idol here, such as The beatles, Rolling Stones.
Indiana state was the third stop, the capital is Indianapolis, it is the largest city and financial center in Indiana State. Here have many attractions as well, such as Indiana culture museum, Indiana art museum, and The Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument.
Chicago was the last stop; it was very cold so everybody calls it “wind city”. We went to the Chinatown to eat my favorite food, hot pot, and went to the highest building in America called Willis Tower; we also visited Millennium Park to watch Cloud gate. I highly recommend Art Institute of Chicago. It is the second largest Art institute in America; it displays many painting works by famous artists, such as Van Gogh
During my first road trip, we gained many things, such as understanding American culture, customs, and travel experience. I plan to visit new spot in America for every vacation, and maybe will travel around the world after graduate.
