Plagiarism also affects relationship among people in society. If a person is committed plagiarism, it will be difficult for him to deal with others because people may regard him as dishonest person and stealing information from others. And he may fail in the project he is doing. Thus, plagiarism is indeed harmful to people and the whole society.
To prevent the rampant spread and negative impact of plagiarism, effective measures should be taken before things getting worse. In the past, attention was paid to find out if people are plagiarism. Nowadays, educators concentrate more on guiding students to tell plagiarism from citation and showing them rules of plagiarism instead of just judging them. It is more helpful because students, especially international students, lack knowledge of policies of referring to others’ idea and tend to believe it is unlimited to use other resources because of the diversity in culture. Even some of them confused when told it is incorrect here. The easy access to knowledge about how to cite outside resources have significant influence on helping students avoid plagiarism.
