Digital story Overdue by Megan Troyer (http://digitalstory.osu.edu/stories/personal/) describes her life at OSU and days spent together with Dr. Bob. Megan was born in Ohio and studied at Ohio State University. She took a job at office of CIO to broaden her horizon. She was not sure whether she could make herself into the office but succeeded eventually. The first day she worked there, Megan met Dr. Bob, who affected her life a lot. Regardless of the fact that he has retired, Megan still admires his working ability and great enthusiasm and she will keep these in mind in her own career.
Overall, this is a good digital story. It is a memorial story of Dr. Bob. It is interesting and also full of thoughts about life and career. For example, Megan illustrates the effects of Bob’s ability to get things done and child-like enthusiasm on her. The recording is good and she uses accents to emphasize something, like could NOT quit. There is one too long pause before talking about Bob’s retirement. Good pacing. The images are great, which are symbolic and match the story well. There is a picture of one bear and its baby when she discusses Bob. The bear seems to be teaching the little one, which symbols Bob’ influences on her. However, I think that she is supposed to use some pictures of her own. The video is too short. Audiences expect a longer one which introduces her life and time with Dr. Bob in detail.
