As the increase of international students from Asia in American University, the problem of plagiarism is rising. From this problem, people can see a number of international students were popped up from American university and feels the need of solution. Durham lawyer who’s filed appeals 16 ninth of the expelled were from Asian countries in Duke University. This file is enough to people can feel the need of solution.
To solve this situation, Faculties should have more chance to discuss this circumstance with international students in this trend. When I came in American university, I have no idea about citing and plagiarism as I am from Asia. I believed there is no gap of plagiarism notion between Asia and America. However, in business administration class, my adviser underlined the plagiarism repeatly to me and advises the importance of plagiarism. I can tell my background through honest talk in office time and she also understands how hard it is for me to adapt in American style. As a result, I almost understand the notion of plagiarism. Without this discussion, I would not get the idea of plagiarism.
In this sense, I believe, the need of discussion between faculties and international students is the solution.
