This is the picture that I chose to put in my digital story (http://famouswonders.com/grand-palace/ ); I choose this image because this picture is about an architecture that I described in my digital story draft. And because my digital story is about tourism and I visited it during the tour, therefore, this picture fits the idea which is about my tourism. The source was the Internet. According to the IP usage rules, I cited the URL at the end of the digital story, the usage of the picture is just for introducing the scenic spot, not for financial usage. This picture gives audiences a straight and clear view of the Grand Palace. The similarity between citing sources in digital story and academic writing is the URL. When citing sources from the Internet, both of these two kinds of works should cite the URL in the reference. The difference is also obvious which is the format of citing sources. Digital story uses informal way of citing sources, academic writing requires formal format of citing sources.
From my point of view, DST homework is good for us to get used to the four fair use guidelines and the IP usage. It helps the students who come from different country in the world to understand the way of using four fair use guidelines and IP usage. When I put all the pictures in the process of making the video, I must cite them. Finally, I found that culture has influence in both making the digital story and writing the argument essay, that causes the DST and the essay have cultural specialty.
