This is a gorgeous picture of the famous Potala palace. I retrieved this picture from http://www.nipic.com/show/1/62/36125f1761121525.html. I used this picture to represent the beauty of the Tibet area, south-west part of China. This one is quite a beautiful one, nice color and prominent picture structure. Since this is not a picture taken by myself, to obey the 4 fair use of IP, I showed the source of it in my digital story.Because I won't publish my video on the internet or make some dvd including the picture to earn money, with the citatin I don't have to concern of violation of the IP protection law. Unlike the document I used in my argument essay, I don’t need to add in text citation during the video, but only give the credit in the end of the video, just like a reference list in the end of my essay.
During the process of finishing my digital story, I learnt a lot. Besides the skill of fluent operating software like imove and audacity I gained, I knew more about the intellectual property usage and technology. For example, at first I searched picture on the internet and then downloaded it, and then close the window. When my video came to the end of the process, I have to re-search the pictures to get the source or URL of it, it was really time- consuming. After this, I learnt that I should write the source down at the same time I download the photos.
In both the digital story, all students showed their own culture. For instance, in the argument essay, we showed our formar education background and our concept of bath academic integrity and what is plagiarism. And in the digital story video, every students show their own cultures. For example , in Baki's video, he present the culture and art of Turkey, in Soochan's video, he showed us Korean military life and in Xiao Yang's video, he explained the Confucianism. Culture has a uneliminatable effect. All of us have a strong will to show and share it.
