Yupeng's Self-introduction

Hey everyone! My name is Yupeng Yang, a transfer student in Food Science major. Glad to introduce myself on this blog.

I was born in Tianjin and I lived there with my parents until I went to college. There are four members in my family. Besides my parents and me, it’s a dog called Yangyang. We name him Yang, which means sheep in Chinese, not after my family name, because he just likes a little sheep with curly hair when he has shower. He is a cute boy, and I love him so much. My parents both export garments to US and Canada. They go abroad frequently, they know the life in US and want me to study here.

When graduated from high school, I was thinking about what I was really interested in. The result comes out that there is nothing but eating. So I search on the Internet for majors related to food, nutrition or something like that, then I found

“Food Quality and Safety” and “Food Science and Engeneering”. Because not good at engeneering, I pick up the former. That is my previous major in China Agriculture University. In the third year study, learnt more professional courses, considering study aboad, I realized I want to learn more about the processing and the science, then I change my major to Food science.

I have been here for three weeks. This is not the first time I have been to US. The last time, I joined a summer camp of high school. It was a one-month travel. We took some ESL courses in Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in the first two weeks. Then we visited some celebrated universities, like Harvard, Yale, MIT and so on. The universities in America impress me deeply, and that’s why I decide to transfer finally. The most exciting part is in the following two weeks. We visited many famous tourist attractions. Universal Studio, Disney, Grand Canyon, etc, I can’t list all the places I went, but I still remember the amazing screen in San Diego with royal blue sea. I vow to go there again someday.

I love the fresh air here, the kind people here, the beautiful campus here. I hope I could have a wonderful experience these two years in Columbus.
